*Smidge is currently rereading Cinder and Scarlet so she can read Cress, after which she plans to reread Tintera's first book so she can read the second. She has just finished the complete works of Sara Shepard.
Book series are my favorite kind of books to read. And while I love reading them, some of them get me extremely annoyed. I don't mean when they are badly written, that's just the author. I get angry when the author doesn't put a previously and takes forever to write the book.
Now, I get that things can get in the way, but when you take 4 years to write a book, and then just start the book where you left off in the last chapter of the previous book, that's just plain annoying. I know that some authors do put these things and this isn't a complaint to you, but if you're an author who never puts a previously in your books, I recommend you do.
You can't expect the reader to remember what happened in a book they read years ago if you just drop it off and then pick it up again.
